Winter is ...
OVER! It"s the biggest season for us, when we have heaps of staff and actually get some rostered time off. Which of course means working ON not IN the business, that trite yet true little aphorism.
In this case designing our new and improved (!) loyalty program, complete with magnetic swipe cards... and then getting folks to part with some cash in order to receive the benefits.
Not sure if they will get posted here, cause that would "out" the restaurant I own... and who knows what other little secrets I may want to give away in anonymity!!?
But I probably will!

Oh the glamour...
Oh yes, Sundays... I lov'em... Sundays are cleaning day. Behind all the kitchen equipment, the extractors... oh yes, the glamour of being a chef!
Still, I do get to listen to 'Zambezi Jazz Show'... which is cool.
And the Black Caps are due to play India in an ODI... so I can listen to that too...
Course If I had a normal job I'd sit at home watching the cricket while drinking beer!

Order in...
Ok, this is gonna be a look at what happens behind the scenes of restaurant management...

- All opinions are mine, I stand by them, even if I turn out to be wrong later!
I'll just be picking up the flow from current events, there will be opportunity to expand on our history as things crop up.
And the first thing to crop up is that it's 12 midday, and I need to get my arse downtown and start prepping for service tonight.
That's the first thing you should know about the Restaurant Life... restaurateurs don't actually have one!!
